Happy First Anniversary!
Today is the first anniversary of Everyday I Write the Book!
Since August 4, 2006, I have posted 98 posts (not including this one) - that's a post every 3.7 days. Not too bad. I have only read 11 books, though - which is embarrassing. 11? Given how many great books I have come across, that's just sad. I vow to work on that - more books in the second year. Reading gives me so much pleasure - I need to carve out more time for it instead of just allotting the last 5 minutes of consciousness every day before I fall asleep.
Thank you to all of you, my readers. It has been so much fun writing this blog, but the best part is learning who is out there reading and hearing what you have to say.
So... I want to hear from you!
Please comment and tell me:
1) What's the best book you've read so far in 2007?
2) Have you read any books that you learned about from this blog? If so, which ones, and what did you think?
Please comment!

Definitely have read some great books thanks to this blog - "Jump at the Sun", "Good Grief" and "Prep" - still on my list are "Revolutionary Road" and "Free Food for Millionaires." Also I keep meaning to go back to that list of books from Cam's Commentary (Feb 18 2007 post)-looks like a fun exercise- thanks Gayle for a great year of book recs and for letting me slack off on reading the NYT Book Review!!

1. My favorite books which I have read this year are: The Whole World Over, The Eyre Affair, The Post Birthday World, The Book Thief, and of course Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
2. Suggestions from your blog I have read: Free Food for Millionaires (really enjoyed, almost a favorite), I love you, Beth Cooper (eh), Evening (didn't really like, good book discussion), Lost City Radio (really liked this one), Him Her Him Again The End of Him (ok), Lost & Found (throughly enjoyed until end), Confessions of a Memory Eater (interesting), The Whole World Over (can't wait for Julia Glass to write anything!)
Thanks--I always enjoy seeing your suggestions or pointing out reviews that look interesting

Congrats! I definately think you should read more books, perhaps sneak them in during work? Who needs 10 AM conference calls!

Beware of Pity, Stefan Zweig, is hands-down the best I've read so far this year.
More recent: White Guys, by Anthony Giardna; Breakable You, by Brian Morton.
And several re-reads (do these count?): A Desert in Bohemia, Jill Paton Walsh; The Black Prince, Iris Murdoch; Harnessing Peacocks, Mary Wesley.
