I read The Myth of You and Me for my book club and really liked it. I read it about a year ago but can still remember the feelings it evoked in me about the coziness of having a best friend with whom you shared everything, and the wrench that boyfriends can throw into the middle of those friendships. It was a good read, with lots of meat for discussion.

A book that has haunted me regarding friendship is "Cat's Eye" by Margaret Atwood. Here, the pain and the power that one girl can hold over another is vividly painted. Atwood, Canada's foremost writer today, brilliantly captures the negative nature of friendship. Here's a story you'll never forget.
