Jill Price, "The Woman Who Can't Forget"

I recently discovered a new resource for learning about new books. It's a monthly newsletter called BookPage, and I found it at my local library.  According to the inside cover, BookPage's "editors evaluate and select for review the best new books published each month. BookPage featured a book that I'd like to read. It's non-fiction, which I don't usually blog about here, but it looked really interesting. It's called The Woman Who Can't Forget, and it's about a woman with an incredibly vivid memory stretching back over 20 years. Here's BookPage's review:

Price and Bart Davis have skillfully placed Price's life experiences within the context of that science. Through Price's story, the book becomes a window into the inner workings of the mind, posing intriguing questions and answering others. Why do we remember? Why do we forget? How much do our memories alter over time? Do our minds truly retain the full scope of an experience, or do we reconstruct it every time we "remember"?

Wow! This just sounds fascinating. Whenever I go through something difficult, it is always good to know my memory will cloud over the rough edges at some point. I can't imagine having such a vivid memory as this woman.

I heard about this woman on the radio. Apparently since her story has surfaced there have been two men who've come public with claims of unbelievable memories. Sounds like a blessing AND a curse.
